The next-generation vaccines can be developed based on the sequence information of viral proteins that are able to induce the immune response important for viral infection neutralization. When the protein sequence is known, it is possible to produce and test any viral protein to start vaccine development.

This method has been proven to be very adaptable to accelerate vaccine development as it was the case for the development of the COVID-19 vaccines.
